I hope the academy reads this and think about this.
I really wish that actresses Marion Cotillard and
Sophia Loren will present the award for Best Foreign
Language Film come 82nd Academy Awards. They are the
only two actresses to have won an Oscar for films
made in a language other than English so it is just
very fitting if they will show there and consequently
present the Oscar statuette.

Italy is not Naples, no just pizza, sea and mandolino guitar…Italy is art, culture, nature, history, all full filled with great human passion. I ‘m looking forward to seeing this muvie/musical! great expectations on it !!:)

this Song sounds pretty bad. If they want to do a song with real italian feeling all they need to do is go to naples….
this song captures no italian feeling at all., even though te title is what it is….

For this to be a “Musical”…. the movie was much more like a film with a bit more music and dancing in it.
Such GREAT TALENTS! But why is it such a Disappointing movie??? I was expecting another big hit like “Chicago”, but I guess they just made the commercials look better than the movie (again).

I thought the film a riveting “cinematic experience” - ie it will appeal to those who love cinema and its unrivalled power to express human complexity. However, for those who ‘just like musicals’, I think they may be disappointed by the film, because it’s not a musical - in my view. It’s a film.

Thia movie is worth of C plus, not more. Daniel Day Lewis was not good at all, Penelope Cruz was horrible. The only good thing was the song Be Italian performed by Fergie and Marion Cottilard as Guido’s wife.

The cast is great and I was honestly so disappointed after seeing the movie. The music is decent, the acting is excellent, and the ideas are acceptable. After putting all of these components together, one would expect at least a watchable movie.
I love musicals and I loved these particular actors but I was so bored I was thankful when the credits started.
The only redeemable thing was in my opinion the portrayal of Guido’s wife.

I find it hard to believe that such talents put together would result in a “Bad” movie. Many have set views that a movie cannot live up to a Broadway performance. Keep it to yourself. Don’t like musicals? Why bother viewing the trailer and posting it? Reality is, people don’t care. I have not seen the movie yet so I cannot say yay or nay. But so far, I think the music is wonderful, the cast, is great, and the -trailer- makes it look great. Watch the movie and base your view on the movie alone.
